Captain Freedom

Captain Freedom Cover

Freedom and his men,
Victorious in war,
Sailed toward their home once more.
A home where every man, woman and child
was free to live his own life style.

They pulled the boats together
and under the warm weather they began to sing and dance
and thank GOD for their chance to be free

And the people would chant
and the birds would sing.

"Freedom, Freedom" your name shall be
and you shall set all people free
"Freedom, Freedom" your name shall be,
"Captain Freedom" of the sea.

Families were together again
and strangers, once slaves, were making friends.

And stories were told of other ships that stole
Freedom listened to one man tell of still another
Slave ship that sailed.

Freedom heard this and raised his fist.
"Things are not well.
Let's make ready to sail."
"We cannot allow this to be
because we have a responsibility."

He told some men to take one ship back home
while he and the others would sail alone.
Freedom and his men,
With their sails full if wind
raced across the ocean.
They put everything into fast motion.
They were like angels of GOD driven by emotion.

Freedom unchained the slaves from their hell
and they came up on deck and began to yell
"Freedom! Freedom!."

... And the birds began to sing and chant.

"Freedom, Freedom" your name shall be
and you shall set all people free
"Freedom, Freedom" your name shall be,
"Captain Freedom" of the sea.
